Why Diamond Contractor Status Matters
Mitsubishi Electric gives Diamond Contractor status to independent contractors who complete its multi-stage training and qualification process and keep up with its equipment and recommended installation practices. For you, that means the people designing and installing your system have Mitsubishi-specific training, not just general HVAC experience, and know how to size, place and set up Mitsubishi equipment the way the manufacturer intends.
McDowell & Son is currently listed in Mitsubishi Electric’s official Diamond Contractor locator.
The Right System for Your Home
We’ll look at your home, how you use each space and what you’d like to improve, then recommend the Mitsubishi configuration that fits: ductless, ducted or a combination. We don’t push one type of equipment. Learn more about ductless mini-split systems and heat pumps.
Mitsubishi Systems We Install
- Ductless wall-mounted systems for single rooms, additions and homes without ductwork
- Ceiling cassette systems that sit flush with the ceiling
- Ducted air-handler systems for whole-home comfort
- Hyper-Heating (H2i®) cold-climate heat pumps
- CITY MULTI® systems for larger homes and buildings, where appropriate
Built for Columbia Gorge Conditions
Columbia Gorge homes see hot summers, cold winter snaps and strong winds, and conditions can vary quite a bit from one part of the Gorge to another. Choosing the right equipment and sizing it correctly for your home matters as much as the brand. For homes that need dependable heat in colder weather, Mitsubishi’s Hyper-Heating INVERTER® (H2i®) heat pumps are its cold-climate technology. We’ll help you decide whether a cold-climate model, a standard heat pump or a ducted system makes the most sense for your home.
Mitsubishi Warranty & Registration
Mitsubishi Electric offers its extended residential warranty coverage on qualifying systems installed by a Diamond Contractor: up to 12 years of coverage on parts and up to 12 years on the compressor. Under Mitsubishi’s current requirements, the system must be:
- installed in a single-family home by a Diamond Contractor,
- owned by the original owner, who lives in the home, and
- registered with Mitsubishi within 90 days of installation.
Not every product or application qualifies, and coverage terms and exclusions are set by Mitsubishi Electric and may change.
McDowell & Son handles the Mitsubishi warranty registration for you after installation. Ask us whether your system and home are expected to qualify.
Rebates & Financing
Utility rebates or incentives may be available depending on where you live, your utility, the equipment you choose and current program rules. See our Rebates & Cash Incentives page for current programs.
18-month no-interest financing options are available for qualified customers. Learn more on our Financing page.
