Terrence McDowell
Founder/Owner
Terry grew up in Seattle, where he started working for his father’s HVAC company while he was still in high school. He moved to Hood River in 1986 to pursue his passion for windsurfing. After several years of working in the sporting industry, he decided to get back into the trade he learned from his father growing up. With the help and guidance of his father, he started McDowell & Son in 1996.

What I enjoy doing when I am not working: Too much! Skiing, wing foiling, mountain biking, motocross, pickleball, and playing the bass guitar with my band Ten30.

Melissa McDowell
Office Mgr./Owner
Melissa worked for several years as a project manager and graphic designer. Being involved part-time with McDowell & Son since the beginning, it wasn’t until 2008 that she decided to join the team full time.
Years with McDowell & Son: 28 years
What I enjoy doing when I am not working: mountain biking, wing foiling, skiing, tennis, pickleball, cooking, and hanging out with my family and friends.

Craig McDowell
Founder
Years with McDowell & Son: Craig is no longer with us but he played a huge role in the start-up of McDowell & Son.
He had worked in the HVAC industry for over 30 years as well as owned and operated his own HVAC company in Seattle. After he retired he moved to Hood River and helped his son to start McDowell & Son.
We are forever grateful for the trade and skills he passed down to our family. He will be missed.
Tim Snyder
Manager
Tim has been with McDowell & Son for many, many years. He left for awhile to start The Underground Music Station but lucky for us he has returned. Tim enjoys playing music, snowboarding, dirt biking, surfing and hanging with his family.

Jairo Munoz
Service Manager
Jairo grew up in Hood River and graduated from Hood River Valley High School in 2018. He came to work with us right after graduation, and we’ve been lucky to have him ever since. Jairo started out as a service technician and quickly impressed us with his technical skills, strong work ethic, and great rapport with customers. Now, as our Service Manager, he leads the service team and makes sure every repair and maintenance visit is handled with care and precision.
